Washington Midsummer Renfair Camping Trip

# 🧚 Fae & Fables Renaissance Faire Camping Weekend | Aug 15–16

The air smells of woodsmoke and roasted meat. Somewhere across the meadow, a lute is playing — or maybe it's a fiddle, you can't quite tell — and the sound weaves between the canvas tents and the flutter of silken banners overhead. It's Friday evening at Sky Meadows, and the Village of Merriwick is already alive. The faire grounds are lit with lantern light, the Knight Club is beckoning, and the whole weekend stretches ahead of you like something out of a storybook.
This is the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire, and for the Fae & Fables weekend, the Wyldwood has come to Snohomish. Satyrs weave through the crowds, elves hawk wares at merchant stalls, and Queen Glorianna of the Fae holds court over two days of performances, spectacle, and the particular magic that only happens when hundreds of people decide, together, to suspend disbelief. Come as you are — or come in costume. Either way, you'll fit right in.
We're going the full experience this time: onsite camping at the faire grounds, checking in Friday and staying through Sunday. That means Friday night at the Knight Club, two full days wandering the faire, Saturday evening entertainment, and the rare pleasure of waking up in the middle of it all — coffee in hand, still in your cloak, surrounded by people who are absolutely taking this seriously and having the time of their lives.

Tickets are online only — no tickets sold at the gate. I have already purchased the Primary Camper Package with a reserved campsite for our group. Everyone joining only needs to purchase an Add-on Camper Package through AXS, which links to my existing reservation:

Itinerary
The following is a suggested itinerary — feel free to suggest alternatives in the comments!
Friday, August 15

1. 5:00 PM – Depart Seattle (carpool groups leave together)
2. 6:00 PM – Arrive at Sky Meadows, check in, and set up camp
3. Once camp is set — head to the Friday Knight Club Party (21+, included with your camping package)
4. 12:00 AM – Night ends, stagger back to camp

Saturday, August 16

1. Morning coffee and breakfast at camp (bring your own supplies)
2. 10:00 AM – Faire opens — wander as you wish: merchants, performers, Birds of Prey, giant swings, jousting, Gnome Adventure, and more
3. Afternoon: catch performances on the main stages, browse artisan goods, eat something on a stick
4. 7:30 PM – Saturday Knight Club & Marketplace (All Ages, included with camping)
5. 12:00 AM – Night ends

Sunday, August 17

1. Morning at camp — no rush
2. 10:00 AM – Faire opens for day two; deeper dives on whatever you loved Saturday
3. 7:00 PM – Faire closes; pack up and head home

Cost
Each person pays for their own camping ticket directly through AXS. Check current pricing at the link above — pricing tiers are available for Adults (18+), Seniors, Military/Veterans, Teens (13–17), and Youth (6–12). Children 5 & under are FREE.
No group cost to collect for this one — everyone books their own spot.

• All camping packages include: camping Fri–Sun, Sat & Sun faire entry, Friday Knight Club (21+), Saturday evening event (All Ages)
• The Friday evening Knight Club is strictly 21+ only

Equipment to Bring
Camping:

• Tent and stakes
• Sleeping bag or quilt
• Sleeping pad
• Portable charger / battery pack
• Lighter or matches
• Headlamp
• Trash bags
• Camp cooking gear and utensils (if cooking at camp)
• Layers and rain layer — August evenings in Snohomish can be cool

For the Faire:

• Comfortable shoes you can walk in all day (cobblestones, grass, and dirt)
• Water bottle — fill stations available on site
• Cash and/or card for merchants, food, and add-on experiences
• Sunscreen and a hat for Saturday/Sunday afternoons
• Costume if you want one — fae, elf, satyr, woodland creature, or whatever you've got

Optional extras:

• Camp chairs for hanging out at the site in the evenings
• Small cooler with snacks and breakfast food
• Fairy lights or lantern for your campsite

Gas and Food Costs
Gas costs are negotiated within each car group ahead of the drive.
For food, we recommend a mix of both:

• Bring groceries for Friday night dinner at camp (we'll arrive around 6 PM, before faire food is available) and Saturday morning breakfast (camping guests get food court access starting at 8 AM, but options are limited)
• Budget for faire food during the day Saturday and Sunday — vendors are plentiful inside the grounds and part of the experience
• Pack your own water and snacks to bring into the faire — bottled water runs $3 on site
