π London Community Builders β July Edition
π¬ Theme: Keeping your community ENGAGED between events
NOTE: Head over to Tribe to RSVP there - it's a new platform for offline community that has just launched here in London!
Hey everyone π Really looking forward to getting us all together again for another evening of great chats, shared learnings and proper connection.
June's venue discussion was brilliant - lots of practical tips and some proper gems shared. For July, let's tackle something we've all wrestled with (I know I have): how to keep your community alive and engaged when you're not actually in the same room.
And as ever, the real magic comes from having a warm and welcoming room full of people who care about bringing others together in real life.
π§ This month's topic: Engagement between events
We'll loosely focus on things like:
- WhatsApp groups, Slack channels, newsletters - what works?
- How to strike the balance between staying connected and being annoying
- Creative ways to keep momentum going without exhausting yourself
- Building habits that keep people coming back
- When (if ever) to go quiet between gatherings
- The role of digital in supporting IRL community
π οΈ Of course, we'll also make space for any recent wins or challenges you want to share outside this theme too
π» The Format:
6:30pmβ7:00pm β Arrive, grab a drink, meet some lovely people
7:00pmβ8:00pm β We'll circle up for a lightly structured convo and engagement story-swapping
8:00pm onward β We have the space until 8:30pm, but can stick together afterwards (there's a lovely restaurant/cafe downstairs)
How to find us: We'll be in the MIDDLE ROOM in Bonnington Community Centre. Ask at the front desk as you come in.
π Who's this for?
This is a monthly gathering for people who run, host, or support real-life community:
- Meetup & IRL event organisers
- Brand-side marketers and community managers
- Independent builders and creators growing in-person audiences
- People who just really care about getting people together
π€ Why I'm doing this
I run Gather, a service that helps brands build in-person communities. This group isn't about clients or case studies though - it's about building a peer circle. I want to connect with and learn from other brilliant London-based community builders. So let's make this our monthly check-in, idea sharing and venting session all at the same time π«Ά
