Hallo Brethren! This is our first event and we're pleased to invite you to gather (hehehe) with your fellow brothers and sisters for brunch @ Le Sélect Bistro.

Gather events are open to people from all walks of life who follow Jesus and are eager to hang out, have fun and build friendships with other followers.

If you're new to the country, visiting, or have been living here for years, and you love and follow Jesus, you are welcome! Come partake in sweet and savoury, French Canadian breakfast goodies with fellow members of the body of Christ.

If the availability here is full, you can RSVP on our sister Facebook group event here or message me. We can accommodate 3 more spots. You may have to join the group to be able to do so but not to worry, you can leave the group right after the meetup. If you're not able to make it, please update your RSVP accordingly as early as possible as that would help us with planning and the restaurant reservation. Please read further for gather event guidelines.

People often tend to feel a bit shy, perhaps even apprehensive, and generally unsure of what to expect at social, in-person events. This is completely normal and understandable. So in the spirit of making things a bit easier, we outline below some guidelines that could help with interacting with fellow Christians at Gather events:

Guidelines for Gather events

  1. Be Spirit-led: In your words, and similar interactions with other members, let the Holy Spirit's guidance be at the forefront.
  2. Lead with love, respect, and kindness: This includes avoiding colourful language (Colossians 4:6), and respect people's boundaries especially around sensitive matters.
  3. Avoid political discussions/theological debates: Focus on getting to know the person in front of you and having fun.
  4. Be courageous: Whilst not really a prescription, we do aim to maintain a no-clique policy. We understand that you might feel more comfortable talking to a specific person or group of people given an unfamiliar social setting but we don't want anyone feeling left out if we can help it. So we encourage everyone to talk, hang and have fun with everyone for the duration of the event and not just a specific few where plausible taking the particulars of the meeting location into consideration. You can still hangout with your closer brethren after the event should you choose to do so.
  5. Have fun: This is a space ordained by God for us, His children to find the connections we may not have time to foster after Sunday service so let's make the most of it.
