Mammutmarsch Ruhrgebiet 42 km

Bereit für eine wirkliche Herausforderung?

Dann komme mit ins Ruhrgebiet, wo wir am 25.4.26 mit vielen anderen "Mammuts" am Mammutmarsch über 42 km teilnehmen, der uns zu riesigen Industrielandschaften, lost places und eindrucksvollen Industriedenkmälern aus einer anderen Zeit führt.
Solltest du die Tour nicht ganz schaffen, wäre das auch kein Problem. Wir wandern viel im Grünen an der Emscher, sind aber in einem städtischen Gebiet, wo jederzeit eine Bushaltestelle oder eine Bahnstation in der Nähe ist, von wo man zurückfahren kann.

Abfahrt in Berlin ist am 24.4. um 14:34 Uhr ab Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Ich habe eine sehr günstige zentrale Unterkunft gefunden, das Carlton Hotel, Dellplatz 1, 47051 Duisburg. Die Kosten für 2 Nächte belaufen sich auf 73,80 EUR.

Den Sonntag können wir nach unserer großen Wanderung entspannt mit einem Brunch angehen. Dann können wir in Duisburg entweder noch den Innenhafen Duisburg, den ehemaligen Industrie‑ und Handelshafen, heute ein historisch geprägtes Quartier mit alten Speicherhäusern, Promenade und mehreren Museen (z.B. Museum Küppersmühle) besichtigen oder in Essen die Zeche Zollverein, ein großes Steinkohlenbergwerk und Kokerei von 1961, heute UNESCO‑Welterbe, dessen Gelände (Kokerei, Fördergerüste, Industriebauten) ganztägig frei begehbar ist.

Nachmittags Rückfahrt nach Berlin mit ICE.

Ready for a real challenge?

Then join us in the Ruhr region, where on April 25, 2026, we'll be participating in the 42 km Mammoth March with many other "mammoths." The march will take us through vast industrial landscapes, abandoned places, and impressive industrial monuments from another era.
If you can't quite complete the entire tour, that's no problem either. We'll be hiking mostly through green spaces along the Emscher River, but we'll be in an urban area, where there's always a bus stop or train station nearby for easy return.

Registration is mandatory at www.mammutmarsch.de. Book the 42 km tour there and select the 7:45 AM start group! (Fee: €69.00).

Departure from Berlin is on April 24 at 2:34 PM from Berlin Central Station.

I've found a very affordable, centrally located accommodation at the Carlton Hotel, Dellplatz 1, 47051 Duisburg. The cost for 2 nights is €73.80.

After our long hike, we can start Sunday off with a relaxed brunch.

Then, in Duisburg, we can either visit the Duisburg Inner Harbour, the former industrial and commercial port, now a historically significant district with old warehouses, a promenade, and several museums (e.g., the Küppersmühle Museum), or in Essen, the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, a large coal mine and coking plant dating back to 1961, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose grounds (coking plant, headframes, industrial buildings) are open to the public all day.

In the afternoon, we'll return to Berlin by ICE train.
