Lunch at Anatoli 56 Greek Taverna

With the closure of some of our favorite spots like Lasagna, Elephant & Castle, and North Square Hotel, I’ve been on the hunt for replacements. I recently found a simple little Greek place that opened about a year ago on 56th Street and 2nd Avenue. They offer a great $21 lunch special Monday to Friday. I’ve tried the fresh lump crab burger and thought it was excellent. It’s not a big or fancy place, but I think you’ll enjoy it.

Served with a choice of French fries, rice, lemon potatoes, Greek salad, or avgolemono.

• Lamb Burger – Ground lamb, harissa, Manchego cheese, tzatziki & pickles on a brioche bun.
• Wagyu Burger – 8oz Wagyu beef, caramelized onions, white cheddar cheese.
• Crab Burger – Jumbo lump crab, brioche bun, lettuce, tomato & remoulade sauce.
• Manouri BLT – Whipped manouri cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato & hot honey on brioche.
• Avocado Toast – Avocado mousse, sliced tomato, feta cheese, everything bagel seasoning & an over-easy egg.
• Spanakopita – Baby spinach, leeks, fennel & Hotos feta cheese wrapped in phyllo.
• Souvlaki Platter – 2 grilled souvlaki with tzatziki • Choice of chicken or pork.
• Greek Gyro – Tzatziki, red onion, tomato wrapped in warm pita • Choice of chicken souvlaki, pork souvlaki, loukaniko, or grilled vegetables.
