Join us on Halloween, October 31st for an evening that mixes laughter, history, and good food! I won’t, but you can come in a costume if you like.

Starting at 5:00 PM on Fridays, admission to the New York Historical Society is pay as you wish.
You can get pay as you wish tickets at the NYHS building or online at tickets.nyhistory.org.

We’ll meet at 5:30 PM in the lobby of the New York Historical Society, then enjoy the Friday Night Comedy Hour at 6:00 PM followed by a visit to the exhibits of your choice. Besides the brand new exhibition of The Gay Harlem Renaissance, celebrating the art, music, and creativity of Black LGBTQ+ life in the 1920s and 1930s, NYHS is also exhibiting (but closing on November 2) Blacklisted: An American Story, which explores the intersection of politics, art, culture, and social dynamics during Hollywood’s Red Scare through photographs, objects, and film. The museum’s permanent Tiffany lamp exhibit is still going strong after many years.

After the museum visit, we’ll walk to Arte Cafe at 106 West 73rd Street near Columbus for dinner at 8:15. They specialize in pasta, delicious Italian standards, and fish entrees. Entrees are in the range of $24 to $35. Please bring enough cash to pay for your dinner as they won’t furnish individual checks and take multiple credit cards to settle the group bill. I would suggest about $50 in cash.
