We'll take the Cornish and UnderCliff trails to the top of the mountain and do a loop back to Cold Spring. We'll have some spectacular views over the Hudson River. It's around a 8.5 mile trip. There will be some rocky and steep spots, not good if you are afraid of heights. You should be ready for an aerobic workout. If we hike quickly we can be back in Cold Spring by 3:30 pm. I'll walk with the slower guys. Cold Spring has places to eat and drink for afterwards.

GUYS TAKING THE TRAIN: We'll be catching the 8:56am Metro North-Hudson Line (headed towards Poughkeepsie) train out of Grand Central to Cold Spring, NY. Meet near the clock/info booth in Grand Central around 8:30am. Return trains are 2:19pm, 3:23pm, 3:52pm, 4:20pm and 5:19pm.

DRIVERS: This hike is a loop, starts and ends in Cold Spring. The train arrives at Cold Spring around 10:15am. There's a good parking lot at Little Stony Point which is closer to the Cornish trailhead. We'll walk up and meet you at there around 10:35am. Here's the Google map pin for that lot. https://goo.gl/maps/1V7nPMasvAUWWx2S9
Also there's parking at the Cold Spring Station. If you park there, you will need to CROSS OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE of the tracks to meet us as we depart the train. Here's the Google map pin for the Cold Spring train station. https://goo.gl/maps/6PjbDyqJW4D2A3Bu9

GEAR: Sturdy trails runners or hiking boots for your feet. Layered clothing is best because you'll be warm when hiking and maybe cool when we stop for lunch. And a rain coat (just in case).

FOOD: Bring plenty of water, at least 2 liters is recommended, and a hearty lunch. You'll be plenty thirsty by the end of the hike. There's plenty of places in Cold Spring to grab a bite or drink after the hike.

IT'S GOOD TO HAVE A MAP! Here's an AllTrails map of our route: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/custom-routes/cold-spring-breakneck-back-way-f356355 AllTrails is a great app and can help you from getting lost. Highly recommended.

Bad weather postpones this trip

Can't wait to see everybody!
