Sailing on Santa Monica Bay out of Marina del Rey

Details
Sailing recap:
We have been having many perfect days for sailing on Santa Monica Bay! Recently, we have had several days with winds of 15-17 knots to the delight of all aboard!
We have had recent sightings of large dolphin pods in close proximity to the sailboat to the delight of our regular crew complements…
Some hardy sailors have taken to swimming from the sailboat on our last several of outings! On these occasions you can expect nudity….
Katrina’s first cruise to Santa Catalina Island is now under our belt! We moored in Avalon Harbor along with eight other boats from the California Yacht Club. We had four on board and all were delighted with the trip! This was a midweek three day event.
We had another cruise to Catalina with the California Yacht Club on the 15th of September. A three day weekend event this time. We were moored in Emerald Bay at the Boy Scouts Camp. The Camp cooked all our meals for $115 per person. We have limited space but if you would like to join future trips contact Dennis directly (602-908-7635)
And we have had yet another cruise with the California Yacht Club for Oktoberfest in Two Harbors on Catalina Island. All had high praise for the event!
This past weekend we had yet another cruise to Catalina Island. This time to Catalina Harbor (“Cat Harbor”) on the backside of the Island. Saturday night we had a fabulous steak dinner on board a 59 foot power boat that met us at Cat Harbor the day after we arrived. Good friends from Marina del Rey.

Text (602-908-7635) or email me ( ddecoste@earthlink.net ) if you want to join us.
What to bring if you can: Sun block, sun glasses, a hat, white rubber soled shoes and a jacket. Expect to use the restrooms at the dock before sailing. Sandals and flip flops are not safe on a sailboat so if you wear them you will be bare foot on Katrina. It is a good idea to secure a hat to your person so the wind does not plant your designer treasure on top of the waves…
Restrooms: The head on Katrina is NOT available for use at the dock nor on the seas. It is a GOOD idea that you ask to use the restrooms in port before we launch for the afternoon.
Non-Smoking Facility:The sailboat is a non-smoking environment.
Thanks,
Dennis DeCoste (602-908-7635)
