What we’re about

Gay Melbourne is a social group incorporating various outdoor and indoor activities including hiking, walking, cycle, tours, dinners, game nights and outdoor excursions for the Melbourne LGBTIQA+ community. Our aim is to provide a safe, friendly, diverse social environment for gay singles and couples to meet, socialise and make new friends. First timers are very welcome, Gay Melbourne is intended for all ages and backgrounds, providing a non-judgmental, no attitude community space. We are always on the lookout for leaders and those who wish to run events or have ideas for such events. With over 3000 members, it's the members who make this space happen!

Twilight Tan Walk
The Melbourne Shrine of Remembrance, St Kilda Road, Melbourne, AU
Now that its getting warmer. Its time to bring back one of our famous and favoured events, the 'Twilight Tan Walk'....

It's an open and free event for Gay Melbourne Group members. Come down after work and walk around the Tan track at twilight for a little exercise and a good chat!

The track takes about an hour to walk, and is casual social stroll around 'The Tan'.

Our regular monthly social night - this month at the Postmaster Hotel in Kew. The Hotel was the original Kew Post Office completed in 1888 in the Queen Ann style as part of a civic complex including a Court House and a Police Station on the High Street side.
NOTE: Access to the hotel is via sets of bluestone stairs
GRADE: Social.
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: The Nomads hold a social night each month, where members and guests can enjoy a meal, talk about upcoming events, compare notes on past activities and float ideas on events they would like to see run. Everyone is welcome to these monthly Nomads social evenings.
Tuesday night is parma night - chicken parmas for $20, or see the Postmaster Hotel Menu for other options.

Join us for the popular annual Christmas BBQ beside the Yarra River in a tranquil, little-known park in Hawthorn.
GRADE: Social.
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: Join your friends on the banks of the Yarra River at Hawthorn for a pre-Christmas BBQ in lieu of our monthly indoors social evening. The venue is a secluded spot that is protected from wind and extreme sun. The reserve has four tables with bench seats and two BBQs. Water is on tap and a public toilet is located on Creswick St.
