Implementing Ribbons in Windows Application using Qt

Welcome to the first GBGCPP of 2020. A new year and a new decade in front of us! :)

We start off this season with a presentation about UI design principles and how to implement the Windows Ribbon UI elements using Qt.

Why would you consider a radical change of your user interface? Why did Microsoft introduce the ribbon in Office? Some embarrassingly good reasons will be given.

Our presenter this evening is Dag Brück.

The presentation comprises two parts. First, we will investigate desktop user interfaces, as well as the evolution of Microsoft Office over several years. Second, we will look at actual C++ implementation of a ribbon UI and talk about design flexibility.
