This is a late evening Meetup, plan to be onsite until midnight. We will be photographing our galaxy, and, optional, the setting 30% crescent moon with Venus next to it.

This location has three vantage points we can try out, each within short walking or driving distance. There are very cool looking rocky foregrounds, some islands offshore, a lighthouse behind us, a vast ocean in front and a clear view east and south without too much light pollution. There will be urban glow north from Portland.

Bring those fast and wide lenses, perhaps a couple of cameras and tripods if you have them to either track the galaxy, create star trails or timelapses. If you want to photograph the setting moon, also bring a long lens, 200-600mm.
If you have lens heaters, bring those, too, there may be condensation.

These are uneven grounds, wear shoes with a good grip, layered clothing, bug spray, liquids and a snack. Perhaps a small chair to sit down or a mat to lie down and enjoy the sky.

Make sure to check in with the organizer and, as always, no guests.
