Long Lens Star Trails (and Fireworks?)

Details

Let's try something new! Want to get away from the crowds, but not miss out on the fireworks? Bring your long lenses and we will try! Fireworks should be to the right of the Pru / Hancock in the above image, maybe right over the Kennedy library.

Plus, it'll be a clear night, so my plan was for doing long lens star trails over the city. Our view will as shown the above. The neat thing is that star trails get long very fast if you are zoomed in. A really long star trail may take you all of 10 minutes at 200 mm. Less at longer focal length.

The above image was taken at 190mm focal length, so any lens from 200 to 600 mm will work great. And if you happen to have any special effects filters (star bursts, colored lines, etc.), that might make for a neat effect, too. Bring your sturdiest tripod

The Boston fireworks will start at 9:40 and last probably less than half an hour. And there may be other towns doing fireworks, too. I have captured fireworks over the Rainbow Swash tank, which is part of our view.

Forecast is for clear skies, low 70s, no winds. High tide is around 7, we will be in receding tide to low tide. Bring bug spray, this is a marsh!! There will be a 70% moon in the sky, but it will be behind us and to the left, out of our way.
