We have an alert for a very strong G3 type aurora for tonight, G2 strength for the next two days. It is supposed to cloud in as it gets dark, but if you are in any location with broken clouds and darkness looking north, go out and try to capture it!

Take wide to super-wide angle lenses with wide aperture (2.8 or less, 1.8 is better), expose to the right with 15 s exposure time, ISO between 1600 and 6400, depending on where you are. Point the camera north, but a strong aurora can also be east/west or even in the south.

Post photos if you get something (or nothing)
