Total Lunar Eclipse, but only partial in Massachusetts
Details
There will be a total lunar eclipse happening in March, but it will only be visible from the western part of the US. In Massachusetts, the full eclipse will only be visible for about 13 minutes before the moon goes below the horizon in the west. That also means you need completely clear skies to see that part.
If you go further west to Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky or Georgia, you can see a full, one hour total eclipse, but not the outgoing partial eclipse.
To see the full event: incoming partial, full, outgoing partial, you need to be at least in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming or further west.
For now, this is only an event suggestion. We may organize a local event to watch the partial and perhaps a few minutes of totality.
TimeAndDate has more information on the event.
