Saturday night will be a clear night, this is a late evening / early morning event, traffic should be low.

This is astro-landscape photography: we'll be photographing the Milky Way at high ISO, with longer exposures for foregrounds, and maybe panorama shots to get the curve of the MW. The core of the MW will be right over the opening of Salt Pond, making for a good composition. Later in the year, it moves to the right.

We may have a chance to see some aurora looking north, this is a Bortle 4 area.

This is a beautiful location, with walkable trails and a tidal inlet which is great for star reflections. There will be no moon that night and the Milky Way should be visible right in the opening you see on the left above.

Wear sturdy boots that can get muddy and dress in layers. Bring your fast wide angle lenses, but a fast 85mm can give you deepscapes. Tripod, mounting plate, intervalometer/remote control, spare battery.

To get an impression of the location, take a look at the last meetup we did there.

No guests, as always, and make sure to check in with the organizer first.
