๐ GDG Adelaide โ Build with AI: Designing and Deploying in the Age of Generative AI
Join GDG Adelaide for another exciting evening of learning, building, and connecting with the local tech community. This month, we're diving into one of the most exciting shifts in software development โ how generative AI is changing what's possible for individuals, small teams, and innovators who want to build fast and build smart.
Whether you're a developer, a student, or someone who's AI-curious, this event has something for you. From rethinking how we approach software with Microproducts, to building and deploying a real AI-powered app with no code required โ it's going to be a hands-on, practical, and inspiring evening.
What to Expect:
Two Engaging Sessions: A forward-looking talk on Microproducts in the age of GenAI, followed by a live hands-on workshop building a resume reviewer app with Google AI Studio and Gemini.
Networking: Connect with the local GDG community, meet the speakers, and share what you're working on over drinks.
Insights: Walk away with practical ideas and tools you can apply immediately.
๐ป Bring your laptop โ the second session is an interactive workshop!

๐ก Talk 1: Microproducts in the Age of GenAI โ Janageeth Logeswaran
As generative AI reduces the cost and complexity of building software, a new class of solutions is emerging: Microproducts. These are lightweight, highly focused applications designed to solve specific everyday problems with speed and precision.
This talk explores how developers, students, and innovators can use GenAI tools to quickly design, build, and deploy such solutions. From simplifying commute decisions to automating repetitive tasks, microproducts target small but persistent points of friction in daily life. Instead of building large, complex platforms, the focus shifts to identifying narrow problems and solving them exceptionally well.
Through practical examples, attendees will learn how to think in terms of microproducts, identify opportunities in their own routines, and move from idea to working solution faster than ever before using modern AI tooling.
๐ค Talk 2: Build Your Own Resume Reviewer with Google AI Studio in Minutes โ Geshan Manandhar [Workshop]
Wouldn't it be nice if you could get quick, honest feedback on your resume โ without waiting for someone else to review it? In this workshop, we'll explore how you can build your very own resume reviewer app using Google AI Studio and Gemini, without the need to write any code.
You'll see how easy it is to set up an app that takes your resume and a job description as text, then gives you tailored feedback to help you stand out. Whether you're polishing your resume for your desired role or just curious about what AI can do, this session is for you.
We'll walk through how Google AI Studio works, discuss how it fits into the hiring process, and you will generate the resume reviewer app from scratch โ then try a resume with a couple of job descriptions. By the end, you'll know how to use Gemini APIs to analyse resumes and generate actionable suggestions โ fast, fun, and with no coding headaches. You will also deploy the app to Google Cloud Run so that you can brag about it to your friends!
๐ป Please bring your laptop for this session โ it's an interactive workshop and you'll be building and deploying alongside the speaker!
