When Kotlin Multiplatform reached stable status in October 2023, it was an important milestone for many in the Kotlin community. However, JetBrains and the passionate Kotlin community have been hard at work extending the technology and ecosystem even further!
In this talk, Pamela will start by introducing Kotlin Multiplatform: how it works and why developers all over the world are using it in their projects. Next, she'll cover some of the exciting developments in the KMP ecosystem from the past six months, including what's been happening in a favourite project of mine: the Swift Export Tool.
The audience will leave the event knowing the latest news about what is happening in the Kotlin Multiplatform world, and will be inspired to continue or even start their journey with us!
4. 6:45 PM: Deno talk - Robert MacLean
You have JavaScript, I have JavaScript, and we all have JavaScript! Imagine taking 5 minutes of your day to improve your performance with JavaScript by 20%! Node.js and npm have been the backbone of development on JS for years, but their age is starting to show! Even the author of Node.js has moved away from it and created Deno. It is a game-changer! Not just in the pure performance metrics but in how we develop modern systems. Join Robert as he shares his lessons in migrating from Node.js to Deno and learn how you can improve your development stack quickly and easily!
5. 7:15 PM: Career Growth in a Remote Landscape - Dylan Green
How does one make the leap from junior to senior developer and above? What to do once you've reached the development ladder ceiling?
6. 7:45 PM: Closing remarks
Closing remarks, some drinks, some networking, bye-byes 👋
