We, the GDG Cloud Düsseldorf and the GDG Düsseldorf, are organizing our June Meetup on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at Troido GmbH to celebrate the 10th birthday of Kubernetes.

Kubernetes Unplugged: Taming the Cloud Beast, DIY vs. Managed

Randy Gupta, a Google Developer Expert and Cloud Architect with 30 years of experience in software development, architecture, and operations, will take us on a journey to demystify Kubernetes.

He will begin with an in-depth exploration of Kubernetes' architecture, diving into essential components like the API Server, Kubelet, Kube-Proxy, CoreDNS, and persistent storage solutions. Following this, he will shift focus to the practicalities of managing Kubernetes, contrasting the hands-on approach of setting up your cluster (DIY Kubernetes) with the ease and efficiency of cloud-managed services from providers like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.

This talk aims to equip you with a robust understanding of Kubernetes' inner workings and provide insights to help you choose the best operational strategy for your needs.
