GDG Cloud Stockholm meets 0+X: AI & Cloud in Practice
Details
GDG Cloud Stockholm invites you to another community evening focused on two of the most exciting areas in tech today: AI and Cloud. This event, hosted by 0+X, will bring together developers, engineers, architects, data practitioners, and tech enthusiasts for an evening of learning, inspiration, and meaningful conversations.
The program will feature talks and discussions covering practical experiences, real-world use cases, and technical ideas across AI and Cloud. Attendees can expect a mix of topics that may include modern cloud platforms, data and infrastructure, generative AI, machine learning in practice, platform engineering, security, scalability, and building systems that solve real problems. The goal is to create a space where the community can learn from people working hands-on with today’s technologies and exchange knowledge across different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Whether you work directly with AI, build on cloud platforms, design modern systems, or are simply curious about where technology is heading, this event is meant to offer something valuable. We aim to keep the atmosphere open, welcoming, and community-driven, with sessions that are both relevant and engaging.
Beyond the talks, the event is also a chance to meet others in the Stockholm tech community, reconnect with familiar faces, and make new connections. As always, GDG Cloud Stockholm events are about bringing people together around shared interests in technology, learning, and community.
0+X will host the evening and provide drinks, snacks, and light food, making it easy to stay, mingle, and continue the conversations after the sessions.
Come join us for an evening of AI, Cloud, and community in Stockholm.
Talks
- "From Zero to Travel Agent: Building Real AI Agents with Google ADK, MCP, and Gemini CLI" by Muhammad Ahsan Ayaz
Everyone's talking about AI agents. Fewer people have actually built one that does something useful.
In this talk, we'll close that gap. Starting from zero, you'll watch a working Travel Agent come to life using Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK), Gemini CLI, and MCP servers... all in TypeScript.
We'll cover the full arc: creating a basic agent, teaching it to use custom tools, connecting it to Google Search for real-time grounding, and finally extending it with the Airbnb MCP server so it can find and evaluate real accommodation options on your behalf.
Along the way, you'll see how Gemini CLI acts as a co-pilot throughout development: writing code, reading ADK documentation, and course-correcting when things go sideways.
By the end of this talk, you'll understand:
How Google ADK works and where it fits in the agent ecosystem
How to compose tools (custom, built-in, and MCP) inside a single agent
How MCP servers turn your agent from a chatbot into something genuinely capable
What the "Gemini CLI feedback loop" looks like in real-world development
This isn't a codelab narrated on stage. It's a talk built around the decisions, the trade-offs, and the moments where things actually break... so you don't have to learn those lessons the hard way.
- "From Prototype to Production: Operating AI Agents with ADK on Google Cloud" by Sijohn Mathew
Building AI agents with ADK is one part of the story, but running them reliably in production brings a different set of challenges around deployment, observability, tracing, and operational visibility.
In this session, we will look at practical ways to run ADK based agents on Google Cloud using serverless deployment patterns with Agent Engine and Cloud Run. We will cover deployment architectures, runtime patterns, tracing and observability concepts, and how to monitor and debug multi-step agent workflows in production environments.
The session will also include a short demo showing how an ADK-based agent can be deployed and observed using Google Cloud tooling.
