The Google Developers Group (GDG) Madeira, in partnership with the Regional Delegation of the Ordem dos Engenheiros, is organizing a tech talk evening focused on the transformative power of artificial intelligence for the web. The event will take place on April 28th, 2025 (Monday), at the headquarters of the Ordem dos Engenheiros, bringing together experts and enthusiasts for a dynamic and insightful session.

In a world where AI is increasingly integrated into our digital experiences, understanding its foundations and practical applications has become essential. Throughout the session, participants will explore how Google's Gemini and Gemma models, along with the Agent Development Kit (ADK), can be leveraged to create intelligent agents and enhance web development workflows.

The event will feature two engaging talks: "Supercharge Your Web Apps with Gemini" and "Gemini, Gemma as Foundations and the Agent Development Kit as Maestro". From building APIs and configuring web environments to creating autonomous agents that coordinate complex AI processes, this session offers a practical immersion into cutting-edge AI tools and strategies.

With a one-hour format, the event aims to inspire reflection and discussion around innovation, creativity, and the responsible use of AI in modern development. Supercharge Your Web Apps with Gemini

This talk provides a hands-on immersion into Gemini, exploring everything from an introduction to the Gemini family and Google AI Studio, to building APIs and optimizing prompts. Through hands-on exercises, participants will learn how to configure the environment to run a web application with Gemini, generate content, evaluate and create images, and use Function Calling.

Gemini, Gemma as Foundations and the Agent Development Kit as Maestro

In this talk, we will explore how the Gemini and Gemma models can be used as a basis for building intelligent agents. We will show how the Agent Development Kit (ADK) acts as a true maestro, coordinating these tools to create practical and efficient solutions with artificial intelligence. The presentation is aimed at those who want to understand, in an accessible way, how these technologies connect and pave the way for the development of autonomous and creative agents.
