Riuscite a pensare alla vostra vita quotidiana senza un navigatore sul vostro smartphone? Nella navigazione marittima la necessità di uno strumento simile è ancora più indispensabile.

In questo talk Roberta Delrio e Federico Matteoni parleranno di come avviene la rappresentazione del mondo in due dimensioni e le sue applicazioni nell'ambito marino. Esistono molte proiezioni diverse per creare rappresentazioni piatte del mondo, ognuna con i suoi vantaggi e le sue limitazioni: scopriremo perché la rappresentazione Mercator è la più comune nella navigazione marittima.

Lo scopo di questo talk è presentarvi i processi di rappresentazione del mondo e di digitalizzazione delle mappe utilizzati nelle aziende moderne e tecnologicamente avanzate evidenziando le differenze tra mappe vettoriali e raster e come vengono usate nei prodotti Garmin Marine.

Federico Matteoni - Software Engineer

Passionate about IT since I was a kid. I begun programming in middle school and focused on mobile apps during high school. Graduated in Computer Science in 2021 and currently studying Artificial Intelligence at University of Pisa.
