"Safeguarding Secrets and Sensitive Data in Android Apps," delves into range of possible practices and techniques for protecting sensitive information for Android Developers.

7:00 PM: New pickers for your Android app: photo picker & share sheet - David Vávra

I will focus on lesser-known but very practical new Android features: pickers. The new photo picker brings a nice UI for picking photos & videos and in a backwards compatible way. Share sheet API was greatly extended in the latest Android versions. I will show you why it’s not necessary to build custom share sheets anymore. I will also share my experience in using it in production in a large finance app.

• It improves privacy, since nothing leaves the device

In this talk I will show how to build a fully-offline Android app with generative AI capabilities. We'll see:

• What MediaPipe is and how we can integrate it into an app
• How to obtain and use the latest Gemma models
• What kinds of tasks can be accomplished on device vs in the cloud
