GDG Zagreb Special Award — Best Google Integration

Prize: €200 in cash plus swag, awarded to the winning team (split among members)

Judging: GDG Zagreb judge

Winning criteria: Alongside the main hackathon prizes, GDG Zagreb is awarding a special prize to the team that best integrates Google technology into their project.

To be eligible, your project must use at least one Google Cloud product or API in a meaningful, functional way. The integration must be working and demonstrable during your presentation.

Google technologies that count toward eligibility include Gemini API, Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Google Maps API, Places API, Cloud Vision API, Cloud Translation API, and more. If you're using a Google product not on this list, it likely still counts — when in doubt, ask.

Projects that incorporate Gemini in a meaningful way receive bonus consideration.

What's the theme of the hackathon?
The theme of the hackathon is "Build Something Zagreb Wants".

You'll get more info at the event!

Will there be something to eat?
Yes! There will be pizza and drinks available throughout the event. Please contact us if you have dietary restrictions and we'll try to accommodate you!

Will there be a prize?
Each member gets $20 in Cursor credits for attending. Additionally, the winning teams each get additional Cursor credits ($200+).

Additional prizes may be announced soon, so keep an eye on this page 👀!

Can I come with a team?
You're free to come alone or with a team. To keep it balanced for everyone, the maximum team size is 5 members.

Please make sure that every team member registers through this page!

What are the rules?

Your project must be built using Cursor.

Your project must be built during the hackathon. You may bring a boilerplate template to make setup easier (eg. create-next-app).

Your project must fit the theme.

Your project must be software (web app, mobile app, AI agent, etc.).

Do I need to be a developer?
Absolutely not! As long as you have an open mind and enjoy building with Cursor, please come!

Do I need to be from Croatia?
Not necessarily.

Due to high demand and Cursor hosting many events like this throughout Europe and the world, we prefer local participants who are based in or near Croatia. If you're outside that region, check out other Cursor events in the community calendar!

Do I have to bring anything?
Your laptop, charger and your Cursor account!

Please note that in order for you to receive Cursor credits, you must use a personal Cursor account. It's not possible to redeem credits for Team and Enterprise plans.
