Android isn’t picky, it can run on your smartphone, smart-fridge, smart-toaster, and even possibly your light-switch!
The question is, how? Well, let's find out together using the means of Embedded devices!
From Raspberry Pi devices, to more industry-standard boards such as the Panzer-Plus NXP IMX8MP board, we'll take a sneak peek to how it all works, and how you can get started with developing Android for your own device.

James Gatt - Paradox Cat GmbH (Android Platform Engineer)
James Gatt is an AOSP Engineer based in Malta.
He is currently undertaking Bsc. Computer Engineering in the University of Malta, whilst progressing his Android Engineering expertise in his free time.James' journey started from a curiousity at a young age from which sparked interest in building AOSP, using the C programming language, Ubuntu and any related self-taught knowledge.

Matthias Bartolo,
Matthias Bartolo (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc.IT degree (Hons.) in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Malta with First Class Honours. He is also currently pursuing an M.Sc. degree at the University of Malta. His main research areas are in computer vision, specifically focusing on object detection and saliency ranking, as well as image processing. He is actively involved in various projects related to these areas, contributing to advancements in computer vision techniques and applications where he also co-authored a number of peer reviewed papers. He was also chosen as a member of the Google Developers Group in Malta and contributes to various projects and initiatives within the group and the university. In 2024, he was honoured with the Dean's List Award from the Faculty of ICT, recognising his outstanding academic achievements.

Hey! I'm Matthew Kenely, a Software Engineer at Colour my Travel and a published academic author with research interests in Computer Vision and Image Processing.
I've completed a B.Sc. IT (Hons) AI at the University of Malta and graduated with a First Class Honours, and am currently reading for an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence.
I am an advocate for open knowledge and free (libre) software. The preprints of my publications can be downloaded for free on my website.
