Firebase: Latest Updates

Firebase: Latest Updates 🔥

Firestore

Every year after Google I/O, the same thing happens. A long list of announcements goes around, everyone saves it, and almost nobody goes back to check what actually matters for their own stack.

So we asked Eslam Medhat to do that part for us.

"Firebase: Latest Updates" is a live session on Friday, 30 October, covering what's new in Firebase from I/O and Cloud Next 2026:

• Firebase in the agentic era

• Firebase AI Logic, for calling Gemini straight from your app

• Search in Firestore

• The smaller updates that are easy to miss but worth knowing

Eslam is a Google Developer Expert in Firebase and a Mobile Architect at STC. He also co-founded GDG 6 October back in 2015, so this is a bit of a homecoming every time he's on.

If you ship mobile or web apps on Firebase, or you're deciding whether to, you'll leave knowing what to try first.
