Culinary Adventure to Haute Savoie, France

Geneva Switzerland Airport

Crusty baguettes, slices of saucisson sec, nutty compté, a glass of cool rosé on a terrace, cow bells ringing in the distance…Few places capture our culinary desires and imagination in the way that France does. Join Saveur the Journey for a Culinary Adventure to the Haute Savoie region, famous for beautiful views of the Alps and Lake Geneva, mountain cheeses and charcuterie, and as the source of Evian water. Our small group will experience exclusive visits, tours, and tastings to skilled food producers such as cheesemakers, charcuterie experts, bakers, butchers, pastry chefs, farmers, and wine makers. We will even visit the UNESCO world heritage Lavaux vineyards on the Swiss side of Lake Geneva where we will taste remarkable wines (Chasselas, Gamay, Pinot Noir) produced from terraced vineyards, harvested by hand, and made into wines in much the same way the Cistercian Monks did in the 11th century. We will encounter this region’s vibrant food culture and its warm and welcoming people, through hosted meals and informal aperitifs. To fully experience the beauty of this region we will do several day hikes in the mountains and through the alpine pastures.
