Join us amongst the wonderful nature of Brompton Cemetery for a twilight bat walk and survey.

Dusk is a special time to experience the nature of Brompton Cemetery. As birds are settling into their roosts for the night, bats begin to emerge to flit amongst the trees. Join us for a guided walk to search for bat species such as common pipistrelles and soprano pipistrelles.
Help Nature Thrive is undertaking surveys at Brompton this spring and autumn to discover which bats are travelling through the cemetery or using the trees to roost. We’ll be using a variety of surveying and detection methods, including specialist bat-detectors that render the bats’ echolocation calls audible to the human ear. These will be really special evening walks where you can experience nature in a whole new way.

These surveying walks are free to attend thanks to the wonderful players of People's Postcode Lottery.

How long is the walk?
This is a gentle 90-minute walk approximately 1.5miles/2.4km long. At times we may venture off paved pathways.

What should I wear?
Please keep the weather in mind. We recommend in winter, something warm and waterproof including footwear; in summer, sun protection, water and walking footwear. For evening walks we recommend, something warm and waterproof including footwear.

Can I bring a dog?
We kindly ask that dogs do not accompany you to this event. Assistance dogs are welcome.

Do I need to print my confirmation?
There is no need to print this confirmation. Simply give the surname of the booker to the event leader upon arrival.
