Is your home stuck in the 1990s from a technology perspective? Don't worry, we understand. Not only can refreshing your tech be scary, but it can be expensive! So rather than dishing out a bunch of money as a giant experiment, let John P. actually demonstrate real world equipment you can use to add all sorts of performance and functionality to your home!

PART 2: Implementing a Network Attached Server

John P. will demonstrate the setup and configuration of a Synology NAS unit including how to implement file sharing, Plex installation, Time Machine backups, and integration with smart TVs,set top boxes, and SONOS music controllers for distributed multimedia playback throughout the home.

Demonstrations will cover:

• Install a simple network based server to store movies, music and photos

• Learn to stream your movie collection to any TV in the house

• Backup every machine to your network server

• Streaming an audio collection to SONOS speaker systems
