Hammock picnic in St. Pete

Let's hang out - literally - at Vinoy Park near downtown St. Petersburg, which has a lovely stand of palm trees that are perfect for hanging hammocks. You can also stroll along the waterfront path that has a perfect view of the bay.

We'll aim to set up at that central triangle area, but if that's taken, we'll pick a spot along the water. I have a couple of hammocks; feel free to bring one, or a camping chair and/or picnic blanket. You can bring your own food or some to share if you'd like (post in the comments). You'll want to bring sunscreen, sunglasses and water.

There are several parking lots close by, including the ones near the North Shore Aquatic Complex, that are free to park. There is also on-street parking around.

Weather permitting. If conditions are rainy, we may delay, postpone or change the event to an indoor activity.
