We're reading the fantasy mystery "The Tainted Cup" by Robert Jackson Bennett as well as finishing up the back half of "Furies of Calderon" by Jim Butcher (author of the Dresden Files), last month's pick. Finishing the books is encouraged but not required, as long as you don't mind overhearing spoilers.

**Please update your RSVPs by 6:00 p.m. on the day of the meetup and/or let Lisa know you're not coming! NO-SHOW POLICY ENFORCED**

The summary:
In an opulent mansion, a high Imperial officer lies dead—killed, to all appearances, when a tree spontaneously erupted from his body. Called in to investigate this mystery is Ana Dolabra, an investigator whose reputation for brilliance is matched only by her eccentricities, like insisting on always being blindfolded. At her side is her new assistant, magically altered to possess a perfect memory. As the two close in on a mastermind and uncover a scheme that threatens the safety of the Empire itself, Ana’s assistant realizes he’s barely begun to assemble the puzzle of the Empire’s greatest detective and wonders how long he’ll be able to keep his own secrets safe from her piercing intellect.
