The Braves:
The Staunton Braves are one of 12 teams in the Valley Baseball League – one of the oldest and most prestigious summer collegiate leagues in the country.
Founded in 1923, the Valley Baseball League provides a place in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley for top college players to play pure wood bat baseball against top-level competition in a festive community atmosphere. The Valley League is one of 11 leagues supported and partially funded by Major League Baseball and is one of 11 leagues affiliated with the NACSB – an alliance of college summer wooden bat leagues that follow NCAA rules.
