Inspired by the Gamers with Jobs community. This is a safe haven for those of us who grew up with games and geek culture seeking like minded friends for conversation and to grow a community.
Despite the name you do not need to have a job to join.
Most events will be gaming night events online with some in person events with time.
The main communication platform for this group is Discord as it keeps discussion clean from clutter and provides members the safety of communicating without revealing names or phone numbers.

Anime Meetup - 2025 Special Awards
Rivonia,Edenburg, Peach Farm Close, House 2A, Sandton, ZAEvery December we get together and reflect on the year of anime.
We have a little award ceremony where we look at what shows did the best in different categories (such as animation, art, music etc.) and we also watch the highest rated show of the year.
This year that show is Takopi's Original Sin. It's a short 6 episode anime dealing with quite heavy topics around abuse. It is not an easy watch so do heed the trigger warnings.
In addition to that we're also watching the movie Look Back which is based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto (creator of Chainsaw Man).

Anime that we'll be discussing : We're going to discuss two anime. 1. Look Back (movie) and 2. Takopi's Original Sin (6 episodes)

Event fee : R50 per person secures you a spot. Paid in advance(contact Alex/Kodama for banking details)
Cancellation Refund Timeframe : You need to cancel before 6 December to qualify for a refund. This is to give anyone else on the waiting list sufficient time to watch the anime.
You need to watch the anime in order to join us as it will be the main subject of discussion.
These events are usually fun and interesting deep dives into various anime where we discuss our perspectives. Each event we pick up on things we missed and see shows that we normally wouldn't. We also discuss other things at these events and is mostly light hearted.
