Inspired by the Gamers with Jobs community. This is a safe haven for those of us who grew up with games and geek culture seeking like minded friends for conversation and to grow a community.
Despite the name you do not need to have a job to join.
Most events will be gaming night events online with some in person events with time.
The main communication platform for this group is Discord as it keeps discussion clean from clutter and provides members the safety of communicating without revealing names or phone numbers.

Lord of the Rings ROTK - Rosebank Nouveau
Rosebank Nouveau, Rosebank The Mall, Johannesburg, ZADate: 28 Feb
Time: 12:30 for the 1pm screening
Event fee: none - free to attend. You just need to pay for your own movie ticket (It's only R50 for this movie)
Venue: Ster Kinekor Nouveau - Rosebank (Please be careful not to book at @ The Zone Rosebank - that's a different cinema)
Seats : Book in Row D. I got seat D6.The three the Lord of the Rings movies are screening again over the next two months at Ster Kinekor cinemas. I'd love to go see them again at cinema so anyone that wants to tag along is more than welcome.
The tickets are also cheap at R50 per person.

Saturday Game Night - PEAK (PC only)
·OnlineOnlinePEAK is a co-op climbing game where the slightest mistake can spell your doom. Either solo or as a group of lost nature scouts, your only hope of rescue from a mysterious island is to scale the mountain at its center. Do you have what it takes to reach the PEAK?
PEAK is currently on sale on Steam until 4 March . It looks really fun and hilarious.
Requirements to join:

5th Anniversary Picnic - Johannesburg Botanical Gardens
Emmarentia Botanical Gardens South Africa, Olifants Road, Emmarentia, Johannesburg, 2194, South Africa, Johannesburg, ZAIt's time for our annual picnic. Can you believe GWJ has been around for 5 years!? As per tradition we are going to celebrate the occassion with our annual picnic at Johannesburg Botanical Gardens/Emmarentia Dam.
What to bring:
- Blankets/Chairs
- Food/Drinks (no alcohol)
- Picnic/Lawn games
- Sunblock
What to expect:
A fun afternoon outside in the park connecting and having fun with likeminded people. New and old members are welcome. We'll play some ice breaker games to make it easier for people to talk to each other.Where to meet:
Please park and meet at the entrance on Olifants Road. Try and be early as you might struggle to find us on your own(it happens every year). We'll have a big number 5 balloon with us.Note:
