Arcade games (rescheduled)

This is our monthly visit to the brand new gaming venue in Coventry known as Star Pins. There are a variety of activities there such as bowling, darts etc., but this session is focused purely on the Arcade section.

There is no booking or payment required for entry- just turn up, trade cash for play credits and have fun with the mass selection of games available; from classics like racing, shooters and whack-a-mole to newer stuff like bop it and jumanji. Quite a few of these games also enable multiplayer- co-op and vs so we will try to get in some rounds of these in particular.

You also do not need coins to play, as there is a device that gives you a “play card” which essentially acts as a credit card- pay to add to it’s balance and tap it on the chosen game to use credits and play (it’ll make more sense when you see it in the venue). Additionally, you can win tickets from the games which are automatically transferred to your play card- these can be used to claim prizes and cool stuff from the prize machine .

While we officially start at 6pm there is no pressure to join or leave at any particular time- drop in and out as you please (until they close at 10pm). It also is not compulsory to play on the machines- you can grab refreshments, watch others play or just sit and chat if that is your wish- as long as you enjoy yourself.

The entrance is on Smithford way in the shopping centre (near the town library and job shop) and you can also get in via West Orchards way on second floor- although that may be closed in the evenings.
