Urban Hike with City Views & Food

Details

Let's check out some of Portland's best vistas on this almost three-mile urban hike along the city's waterfront and on portions of the Portland Trails network, which includes hidden stairways and shaded paths. We will walk along the Eastern trail, ascend to the Eastern Promenade, and take in some great views of the Casco Bay, Back Cove, and Port city. We will also walk by some interesting 19th century architecture in the Munjoy Hill neighborhood. We'll wrap up the hike with some good food, drinks, and conversation (all of which are optional) at Maine Craft Distillery patio (or inside if the weather is on the colder side).

The walk includes some steep inclines and declines via granite staircases, but there will be some options for more gradual pathways. So be sure to wear sturdy shoes and carry a water bottle. We'll take brief breaks to catch our breath and share a bit of history.

It's a dog-friendly Meetup, but they must be on-leash per Portland Trails requirements and should also be people and dog friendly. Maine Craft Distillery's patio is also dog-friendly.
