SHALOM & WELCOME!
Are you single, Jewish, and looking for that special someone, a "partner in crime" who could potentially be your soulmate? Some of us in Generation X are still looking for that ideal mate who is truly our "b'shert." If you are in this category, then this group is definitely for you!
We have re-launched "DC Metro Jewish Singles," re-named it "Gen X Jewish Singles of the DMV," and re-imagined it as a place where Jewish singles in their 40's and 50's can truly feel comfortable being single and mingling with like-minded Jews. NOTE: Although we are called "Gen X," we are not completely strict about the age-range for the group. As long as you are in your 40's, 50's, or early 60's, are Jewish and single, and have a "young attitude," you are welcome to attend! :)
Overall, our goal is to help those in our generation to find their b'shert, while meeting many great single folks and making wonderful friends along the way!
Although this is not a religious group, we may occasionally get together for services and/or holiday/Shabbat celebrations. Mostly, though, this is a social group for Jewish Singles, and we accept any level of Jewish practice.
We will have events that appeal to all kinds of singles--those who prefer general social events, like happy hours and dinners, but also events that are more specific activities, such as bowling, ice skating, mini golf, and a whole host of other activities that you can imagine. It is all up to the group, and our interests, to determine what we will do. The sky is the limit!
*Please consider hosting just one event a year. If everyone does that then we will have over 700 events per year!* If there is an event that you want to host, please contact us, and we will make you an Assistant Organizer so that you can post activities to the site.
PLEASE NOTE: If you RSVP as YES for an event, please consider that as a commitment and honor that commitment. However, we do recognize that things can come up, so if you can't make it, please be sure to change your RSVP to NO as soon as possible, so others can join in. People who consistently are "no-shows" without cancelling may be removed from the group.
To be approved for Membership, you need to use a current picture of yourself and answer the required questions. We hope you will join us for what we hope will be an incredible journey of making new friends and potentially meeting your soulmate!
