From Metrics to Methodology: Rethinking GenAI Evaluation

Creating a solid evaluation process for Generative AI is one of the biggest open questions in the field today. While most guides focus on which metrics to use and how to balance manual and automated testing, real-world scenarios demand a lot more. This lecture offers a practical, experience-based approach to building an end-to-end evaluation system. We’ll discuss how to choose the right framework, compare different options, and ensure the process is accessible to both technical and non-technical roles like product managers. We’ll also explore the importance of orchestration tools to manage prompt versioning, test environments, and more –making evaluation workflows smoother and more effective. Everything is based on real hands-on experience from building an internal evaluation system at WSC Sports
