Next to Air, Water is the most critical prep, yet they are the most taken for granted of preps. It is said that man cannot live much more than 3 days without water. Water is necessary for drinking, food cleaning & cooking, bathing/hygiene, laundry, and gardening.
Then begs the Question: In an Emergency, can't I just purify water that I collect from a lake near me? Yes, that works in the short run, however much time and energy will be wasted in that effort if a Disaster lasts a long time, wherein you'll want to have water conveniently close by for daily needs. Thereafter you can add a gravity-fed drip irrigation system on a solar-timer to your gardens. Thus, it is imperative that every household have a rain water collection system in place to help themselves and neighbors.
Chriss will present on how to create a simple inexpensive DIY Water Catchment system for your home and/or BOL. She will cover: resources, preparations, inventory, tools, and Installation. Now is a great time of year to make a plan and assemble your system.
IF time permits, we will have some general prepping discussion after the presentation to share your concerns & Questions.
