Autumnal afternoon ride through the forests north of Geneva

With the days getting shorter and the weather a bit colder it's not really possible to do evening rides for the moment. However, join us for an autumnal afternoon ride taking in the beautiful changing colours of the forests north of Geneva! Now is the best time of the year to get out on your bike with the temperature that little bit cooler!

The route we will take is around 30km long. There is a bit of climbing but nothing very daunting and we will take it slow!

There are a few sections where we will ride on unpaved roads and paths so it is best to use a hybrid (VTC) style bike - on a roadbike it may be quite uncomfortable at times and you have more chance of getting a puncture.

We will head out of Geneva following cycle lanes and quiet roads towards Collex and Bossy. The views of the Jura and across to the Mont Blanc Massif are stunning! We will then ride through the forest - enjoying the autumnal colours - and head back towards Geneva via Genthod and Bellevue.

THINGS TO BRING:

Lights if you have them to be seen easier in the forest!

Some food/snacks for the ride

Water

Possibly a raincoat and something warm depending on the weather.

Again as with the last ride for obvious reasons we will have to limit the number of riders so if you intend on coming please sign up! Social distancing will be observed throughout the ride.

The itinerary will be roughly as follows:

13h00: We will meet at the entrance to Parc Trembley (at the far left hand side of the football pitch and opposite 16 Avenue Giuseppe Motta.

13h15: We will set off around 13h15 - the ride should take between 2h30 and 3h30 depending on the number of stops!

15h45/16h45: Arrive back to Parc Trembley.
