About us
Welcome to the Geneva Backgammon Group!
Our meetups are perfect for anyone interested in Backgammon, at all skill levels. We host casual events geared towards socializing and just enjoying the game and company. Typical meetups have no buy-ins, required skill level, or specific tournament rules unless otherwise specified. We typically meet at local bars where we can also enjoy a drink and some food while we play.
We are an ever-growing community, so we welcome all new joiners and seasoned members alike. Don't be shy to just show up to a game night and say hi!
Note that we also have a long-running Geneva Backgammon Group on Glocals where you can also register for our events and engage there if you prefer. This is the same group and events as being posted here.

Geneva Backgammon Social Evening
Mr Pickwick Pub, Rue de Lausanne 80, 1202 Genève, Switzerland, Genève, GE, CHWelcome to our first Geneva Backgammon social evening hosted here in our new Meetup group. Note that we also have a long-running Geneva Backgammon Group on Glocals where you can also register for our events and engage there if you prefer.
Looking forward to seeing all those interested for some great games and good times. For this event, there are no buy-ins or tournament rules. These will be casual games enjoyed over some socializing, drinks, and food.
We welcome players of all skill levels, so don't worry; you can come learn if you are new or find a good challenge if you think you are an expert :) Players can decide among themselves on variations in rules; however, if you want to review the international standard rules we usually play by and some common strategies, have a look here. We'll be meeting at Mr. Pickwick Pub. Happy hour is 18h30-19h30 for those who can make it on time, but if you're coming late, that is fine as we tend to stay for a few hours. Anyone with a board, feel free to bring one, but it's not a requirement, as we always have a couple of spares available. We usually end up playing downstairs, but it could vary depending on special events or weather, so just look for the group with Backgammon boards. And there are plenty of TVs in case there is a match that people want to watch.
Note if this event shows full, that's just an account limitation so feel free to still drop on by without registration, no worries. Let’s get our game on!
