Snowshoeing / St-Cergue - La Cure

Taking advantage of the snowy days, this Sunday we are going to do a snowshoe hike from St-Cergue to La Cure. This is a 10.8km itinerary leaving from the train station at St-Cergue and finishing at the border with France where we will take the train back.
We will need snowshoes (raquettes a neige) for this hike. The temperature will be between -2C and -5C so ensure you dress properly with enough warm layers.
🏔️ HIKE DETAILS
We will meet at 10:03 at the St Cergue train station.
We will walk at a moderate pace and will be making stops for lunch, snacks, and to admire the views. There is no covered place where we can make a stop for lunch so we will have our picnic time outdoors.

🏃♀️ TECHNICAL / PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY
This hike is not technically difficult but you need to be moderately fit to do it as the group normally walks fast. Ideally you should have have snowshoed before.

This hike requires snowshoes. You can rent snowshoes in Geneva at this location: https://www.locaski.ch/
🌏 DIRECTIONS
If you come from Geneva take the following:
- RE33 (direction St-Maurice) departing Cornavin at 9:08 and arriving in Nyon at 9:24.
- Then, take the R55 (direction La Cure) departing Nyon at 9:29 and arriving in St-Cergue at 10:03.
If you come from Lausanne take the following:
- IR95 (direction Geneve-Aeroport) departing Lausanne at 8:49 and arriving in Nyon at 9:19.
- Then, take the R55 (direction La Cure) departing Nyon at 9:29 and arriving in St-Cergue at 10:03.
Please note that to take the R55, you have to a bit behind the Nyon station and then take the escalator underground.
If you come by car: You can park at St-Cergue and when we finish, take the train back from La Cure to St-Cergue.
