Roslin to Lasswade along the Esk Valley.
Details
We'll meet outside the visitor centre at Roslin Chapel at 11.15am and will first go round the back to admire views of the Pentlands and see the outside of this historic chapel (which dates back to 1447). From there we'll head along the Esk valley, making a stop to see Mavisbank House, dating back to 1730 and the picturesque pond there. We'll continue along the valley, which is full of blue bells and blossom at this time of year, and will finish in Lasswade. Total distance 4.5miles. Here we can stop at the Laird and Dog pub for refreshments before catching the bus back to Edinburgh, or back to Roslin if anyone has parked there.
Getting to the start: catch bus no 37 from Princes St to Roslin. Please check the timetable as the bus only runs every 30mins.
