Lochore Meadows from Kelty 6 miles Circular

Details

Join us for this circular walk in Fife.
6 mile walk takes us around Loch Ore.

An easy-going route is suitable for most abilities, so a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors. This route takes in a loop around Loch Ore which offers great scenery along a gravel path. This is a multi-activity park and is used for swimming competitions, sailing, and rowing training.

Mid 20th century, Lochore Meadows was a coal mine, and the mineral railway serving the pithead became an embankment surrounded by water. The islands in the loch are the remains of the former railway embankment.

The path is gentle with total elevation of 500 feet.

From Edinburgh take Stagecoach X56 (Perth) and exit bus at Kelty Community Centre Bus stop
———>
bus stop after you see primary school on your right hand side. According to Stagecoach, bus leaves EdibusStation at 10:30 am, arrives 11:28 am. I will board this bus at halbeath P&R.

We will cross the street to community centre parking lot and take a path downhill towards the loch, about 3/4 of mile of paved path and sidewalk.

If you are driving, meet us at Kelty lochore meadows parking lot around 11:45 -11:50

Getting back: Return to Kelty to either get X56 back to Edinburgh or to Kinross P&R to catch Megabus.
