ABERDOUR TO BURNTISLAND WALK

Barbara invites you to join her on this beautiful coastal jaunt beginning, and ending, at Aberdour Rail Station.

We will take Fife coastal path along Silver Sands Beach and through woodlands to Starley Burn and on to Burntisland where we lunch before returning to Aberdour.

Approximately 6 miles.

Terrain: pavement, gravel, grass, beach.

Stunning views across the Forth to Edinburgh and West Lothian.

ABERDOUR SILVERSANDS aka Scottish riviera - very popular beach looking out to the islands of Inchmickery and Inchcolm. Public toilets, cafe. STARLEY BURN FALLS: The waterfalls around 12 to 15 feet above the path and the interesting coating on the nearby stones are caused by the lime rich water.

BURNTISLAND: an attractive, historical town with cafés, shops, sandy beach. We will lunch here.

Aberdour Castle: is among Scotland's oldest standing castles—it dates back to the 12th century with a 500-year noble legacy. Renowned for its beautiful garden with moon clock.

TRAVEL TO ABERDOUR
PLEASE NOTE The best option is to travel by train.TRAIN: The Perth train leaves Waverly at 11:35 and arrives at 12:05.

🚌BUS: Stagecoach X60 or X58
Both require transfer to Stagecoach 7 towards leven/Kirkcaldy.

Please check bus connections before you travel as schedule might have changed by few minutes.

Toilets: free at Silversands and 30p in links park Burntisland

Food /drink: bring a packed lunch and sufficient water to avoid dehydration (even it is cold you still might suffer from dehydration)
Dogs: well behaved dogs are welcome, but bring a short lead with you, we share our path with dog walkers and bikers.
