Moderate walk along trails at Arroyo Hondo for Valentine Sake!
Details
Moderate walk along trails at Arroyo Hondo.
This is a small, compact area of "Open Space".
We'll do a loop of about 2 miles and 250' elevation gain.
Scouted with a fellow GentleWalker other day, and found that the outermost loop was about 2 miles, with about 250 feet of elevation, The trail consisted of two uphill sections, and two downhill sections. Each of those have a short and a long section, and they are pretty much the same Elevation and Gradient.
The trail is rocky in places (small rocks, not boulders :-) so to see the many vistas, best to stop and stand in place. We stopped in the more shady spots to "recover" and have some water. So it is really quite a nice place, with lots of views over the surrounding lower places.
To Car Pool:
We'll Carpool from NW Corner of Albertsons Parking LOT -under the huge sign. (This is the store on Zia Rd at 3001 S St Francis Dr)
(The Red Location Pin on map is at the store itself. Instead meet at the corner of the park lot by the huge sign).
To Contact FRANCESCA if lost, late, or can't go at last minute: text or call 631.793.6139
If not CarPooling, TH is South on Old Pecos Tr., South beyond freeway to a T intersection, then a left onto Old Agua Fria Rd E (CR58D) and follow to about 100 feet from the end (a gated residence).
If you have to back up take a right into the Open Space Car Park.
Parking is limited.
Be Sure to let the host know if going direct to TH, so no one has to wait.
