Santa Barbara’s Rock Garden, at approximately 3,700 feet in the Santa Ynez Mountains, is an iconic boulder field and one of the area’s most exciting destinations for hiking, scrambling, bouldering, and exploration. From its high vantage point, we’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the Channel Islands, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Summerland, and Carpinteria.

We’ll hike to the Rock Garden in time to enjoy sunset and watch July 4 fireworks from multiple communities below before descending by headlamp.
Expect an afternoon of sandstone scrambling, expansive coastal views, sunset over the Pacific, fireworks lighting up the coastline, and a headlamp hike beneath the night sky.

This outing is intended for people who enjoy adventurous hiking, meaningful conversation, mutual respect, and contributing positively to a collaborative group experience.
