Join us for our monthly meetup!
We have a dynamic combo of presenters discussing topics ranging from the Earth’s carrying capacity to geospatial tech to help us better understand our planet.
Presenters:
- Dr. Christopher Tucker, Chairman of the American Geographical Society, will talk about his recently released book "A Planet of Three Billion".
- Dr. Michael Mann from George Washington University will talk about ts-raster, a tool to make extracting time series from raster stacks easy and intuitive. He will showcase this tool in the context of forecasting wildfires in California.
- Chris Holmes will talk about the SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog (STAC) for standardizing the way geospatial data are exposed online and queried.
Agenda:
- 7:00PM: Networking
- 7:30PM: Lightning talks

We hope to see you there!
On the first Wednesday of the month, we gather to socialize, network, and hear about the work people are doing with maps, GIS, geodata, and more.
