Details

Join us for our next virtual monthly meetup! We have organized several terrific lightning talks, and we will provide networking opportunities for attendees. All are welcome, from beginners to experts.

Dr. Dee Jordan from Harvard Medical School will present on her recent project with the American Geographical Society: Celebrating Black Geographers. This project brings awareness to the impacts, contributions, and legacies Black geographers have had on the discipline of geography, their communities, and the world. Learn more at https://americangeo.org/black-geographers-1900-2000/

Daniel Huffman, a professional cartographer, will present a project they undertook to map and measure a unique phenomenon in the Midwestern United States: blue moon ice cream. Learn more here: https://somethingaboutmaps.wordpress.com/2020/11/02/the-quest-for-the-blue-moon/

John Nelson from Esri will talk about the data-information-knowledge-wisdom model of understanding, and will use aggregated ocean vessel tracks as visual examples.

We hope you can join us!
