GeoDev Meetup - Washington, D.C.

Details

We will be hosting an Esri GeoDev Meetup on Wednesday, June 26th. Appetizers and beverages will be provided at the meet up.

This event is a social gathering for developers to discuss the latest in mapping, geo technology, geo services, web and mobile mapping apps, app design, cloud solutions, map data or anything else related to solving real-world "geo" problems.

Developers of all levels of expertise are welcome, from seasoned GIS professionals to those new to geospatial development. At these meet ups, you can: Meet cool people. Show us what you got by demo'ing your application or framework. Present a cool new/interesting concept or idea. Impress someone by sharing your experiences. Make BFFs for life - connect with other developers!

Meet Up Schedule

5:30 - 6:30 PM Registration and Social (Appetizers and Beverages served)

6:30 - 7:00 PM Introduction

Albert Nieto, "Spatial Data Science Across ArcGIS” - When done properly, Spatial Analysis lets you see what others don’t, helping you find connections between the seemingly disconnected. Join us for this talk on Spatial Analysis and Data Science across the ArcGIS platform, covering how the aspects of the analysis lifecycle are supported by different components of ArcGIS. We’ll start with data engineering using ArcGIS Notebooks, cover visualization and exploration using charting in ArcGIS Pro, and explore Spatial Analysis concepts with new geoprocessing tools coming in the summer.

7:00 - 8:00 PM Lightning talks - if you're interested in signing up for one, please DM Amy Niessen! They're only five minutes long, and you'll gain a lot of positive feedback and support. :)

  • Ken Buja, NOAA "Put the App in the Coconut" - This talk will cover our recent
mission in St. Croix USVI where we use Web AppBuilder, Collector, and
Operations Dashboard to plan and track operations as divers conduct
fish censuses and monitor coral reef habitat around the island.

  • Eric Ashcroft, BlueRaster "High Capacity Deforestation Monitoring with AWS Lambda"

-Chrystian and Rebecca Vieyra, "Visualizing Magnetic Fields in AR"

8:00 - 8:30 PM Giveaway, Networking, and Social.

We will be providing everyone who is in attendance with 1000 ArcGIS Online Developer Subscription credits.

Also, we will have a drawing for a DevSummit 2019/20 registration.
