What we’re about

Tavern Talks: A Modern Revival of America’s Spirit

The American experiment has always been about people gathering together in taverns, town halls, and front porches to ask big questions and imagine a better future. Tavern Talks is a modern revival of that tradition.

We meet in Georgetown to talk openly about the challenges of our time and the values that can carry us forward. Each night begins with a simple, timeless question: What does freedom mean today? How do we balance rights and responsibilities? What kind of ancestors do we want to be?

This isn’t politics-as-usual. It’s about planting seeds for a re-founding of America’s ideals for the 21st century: honesty, community, resilience, and hope. From Georgetown, we believe these conversations can ripple outward — town by town, state by state — until the American spirit is renewed.

What to expect

  • Honest, respectful dialogue — not shouting matches

  • One guiding theme per night (hope, resilience, freedom, community, etc.)

  • A mix of young and old, left and right, seekers, skeptics, veterans, teachers, and neighbors

  • A community committed to courage, truth, and rebuilding trust

If you’ve felt the fractures in our nation and wondered how we can come back together, this is your invitation. Pull up a chair. Add your voice. Help us re-found America, one conversation at a time.
